Dear NCPTA Member:
The North Carolina General Assembly’s Program Evaluation Division (PED) has been directed to examine how limitations on school calendar flexibility have affected school districts, school operations, and students during the past 10 years. Current state law (G.S. § 115C-84.2(d)) requires that the opening day of school for students may not be earlier than the Monday closest to August 26th and closing day of school for students may not be later than the Friday closest to June 11th. PED has partnered with the North Carolina Parent Teacher Association (NCPTA) to send you this voluntary 10-minute survey that asks opinion questions about how the school calendar for school districts affects families. Click on the link to complete the survey: NC PTA School Calendar Survey Please complete this survey no later than 5:00pm on Sunday, September 25, 2016. Your individual responses to this survey will be anonymous and cannot be linked to your email address. The NCPTA has sent you this email on our behalf; PED does not have access to your email address. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Carol Shaw at [email protected] or 919-301-1216. Thank you for your participation! We look forward to receiving your completed survey.
